As healthcare providers, we often struggle to find safe and effective therapies for patients with Alzheimer's disease and other memory disorders. Our program has been developed by a team of clinicians (e.g. Neurologist, Cognitive Neuroscientist, Registered Nurse) and professionally trained musicians as an at home or on-the-go music activity and educational program to stimulate the mind and exercise memory. It is meant to provide meaningful activities to patients with Alzheimer's disease and other memory complaints. Our program applies the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions, activities and education.

While music therapy may also be classified as one-on-one sessions and a personally designed program by a certified music therapist, many individuals do not have access to or cannot afford this type of highly effective and intensive therapy. A myraid of recent literature-based scientific evidence has shown that music therapy is an effective treatment for Alzheimer's disease. In fact, a recent study from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine revealed that a 6-week intensive music therapy program improved thinking skills and also increased chemicals in the blood (Melatonin, Norepinephrine and epinephrine) that improve both memory & sleep.

To learn more about how music therapy enhances a comprehensive treatment plan for Alzheimer's disease, read Harvard-trained Neurologist, Dr. Richard Isaacson's latest book, "Alzheimer's Treatment Alzheimer's Prevention: A Patient and Family Guide, 2012 Edition." Dr. Isaacson answers the most common patient and caregiver questions on the latest treatment and prevention strategies for this disease and you can order it on our website. You can also listen to the Coping with Caregiving radio show (Segment 1) for more information, hosted by Jacqueline Marcell, an international speaker and author of the bestselling book Elder Rage.
